The new KIT-Card has a new layout and a new counterfeit-proof chip.
While the KIT-Card before 2018 used a technology where the technology was no longer counterfeit-proof and only with considerable organizational measures a counterfeit could be recognized as such, the new KIT-Card uses a new chip which can be called counterfeit-proof according to the current state of the art. Since organizational security measures have also been implemented, it can be assumed that the new KIT-Card can be used as a secure means of identification for at least the next 10 years.
