KIT-Card Exchange- Information for Students

The exchange of the KIT-Card for students of KIT takes place from the beginning of July 2018.

Like now also in the future, the KIT card will be used as a student ID card according to §12, section 3 of the admission and enrollment regulations of KIT and thus a photo of you will be printed on it.
To prepare for the exchange, you should now upload a portrait photograph of yourself at https://my.scc.kit.edu/shib/kitcard.php. The photo does not have to be a biometric picture. It has to be just like a passport photo and you should be easy to recognize on it. The page can also be accessed from mobile devices so you can take the photo directly with your mobile.

For the issue of the new KIT-Card you must appear on site; sending the KIT-Card via mail is not possible. You will receive more detailed information about your personal exchange of the KIT-Card after the production of the card by e-mail. When picking up, the photo on the KIT-Card will be checked, the card activated, any existing balance rebooked and your old card deactivated and confiscated. Please do not forget to bring the printed mail and your old card. If you no longer have the KIT-Card, you will need an ID Card with photo to identify.

A possibly set up "Autoload" function must be requested again for the new card at the chip card point in the foyer of the canteen Am Adenauerring . You get more information on http://www.sw-ka.de/en/essen/bargeldloses_zahlsystem/

There will be no more printout on the issue of your new KIT-card. All data stored on the new KIT-card can be viewed at any time in the my.scc portal
